Thursday night I was at this little park across the street from my place. It's a really awesome park right across from this very beautiful Baptist church. It's pretty much dedicated to the Battle of Pensacola, it's on a hill and there is a little fort type thing at the top with two old cannons on it. I very much enjoy the spot.
Anyway, while I was there just taking some time to think or whatever I heard coughing. There is a little moat type deal in front of the fort and I found there was a homeless person staying the night there. It was pretty cold out and I was wondering what I could do to help them out. First I couldn't see them so I didn't know whether they were sleeping or not and I didn't want to wake anyone up. So... yeah, Paul called me and said he and Jesse were going to Waffle House to get something to eat and I said I would meet them over there.
I started to walk away thinking about the person down there. My first thought was that I didn't know whether they were sleeping or not and for some reason I felt like I needed to have set this all set up first. Like have a night set where my friends and I would go out and help homeless people (I'm hoping to start a love bags type deal here by the way if you guys didn't know). Realizing I was doing this I decided to walk by the moat place thing to see whether the person was awake or not.
Sure enough he was and I asked him if he wanted to join my friends and I at Waffle House. He thought for about a second then said yeah. He actually said, "f**k... sure." Mike said the f-word a lot.
He had only been on the street for a couple days and was headed to this job finder deal the next morning. He stayed on our futon that night and Paul gave him a ride to the place in the morning. I told him why we did what we did and prayed with him before he headed out. I pray that he found a job and will soon find Christ whenever I remember. It'd be cool if you guys did too whenever you think about it.

Fil - this is awesome man! I always try and talk my way out of situations like that - due to my uncomfortableness I guess. Thanks for being an example of what TO do. That is Kingdom work there my friend!
